Nobscot Cabin

Troop 157 has a cabin (#21) that resides within Nobscot Reservation, owned and operated by the Knox Trail Council, and is located on Nobscot Road in Sudbury, MA.  We acquired the cabin from KTC about 16 years ago and is only 1 of about 4 troop cabins remaining within the reservation.  Where we consider it a significant Troop asset, it has seen extensive renovations and improvements over the last 10 years.  We have replaced the roof, re-pointed the chimney, repaired and replaced exterior doors and locks, repaired exterior siding the exterior siding, re-built the porch railings, flooring, and replaced the stair systems.   Within the interior, we upgraded our sleeping capacity to accommodate 14 persons; replaced the aging wood stove; added counter space and shelving in the kitchen, and added a 3-burner propane stove top.  All these enhancements have come about through the very generous donation of time and money from our membership.  Thank you All!

Our cabin is enjoyed by all, any time of the year.  Cub Scouts of all ages, Girl Scouts, and our Boy Scouts have enjoyed many gourmet meals, board games, and nights hanging at the cabin.  Our winter treks have been very popular, where we’ve sledded the side hill, blazed bonfires at the fire pit and had the woodstove glowing red, laughing at the sub-freezing temperatures outside.  The memories should keep on coming.
